FACULTY & STAFF

Mary Vogel, Co-Director
Mary Vogel is a member of many community based organizations and brings a vast knowledge of landscape and building design to the Center. She is particularly interested in using community based design efforts to create sustainable environments.

Alan Ek, Co-Director
Alan Ek is Department Head and professor with the Department of Forest Resources at the University of Minnesota. His research focus includes: developing survey and monitoring designs for forests and related resources; developing forest regeneration, growth and change models for resource planning and long term analysis of ecosystem response to treatment, and; analysis of forestry and related natural resources research including its funding, function, direction, conduct and benefits.

Marvin Bauer, Professor of Remote Sensing
Marvin Bauer has extensive experience in remote sensing research and the application of remote sensing to inventory and monitor natural resources. His current research emphasizes the development of remote sensing for forest inventory and monitoring landscape dynamics and lake water clarity. He teaches classes in remote sensing of natural resources and digital remote sensing, and directs the Environmental Resources Analysis Center, a multi-department center for geospatial analysis and modeling.
